Why Start Now?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Right after the attacks on 9\/11, NYC Mayor Rudoph Giulani appeared on Saturday Night Live.<\/p>\n<p>It was the only occasion that I&#8217;m away of in American television in which a popular television show had to get permission from the government to do comedy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/fishandcheese.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/snl911.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/fishandcheese.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/snl911.jpg\" alt=\"New York City Rudolph Giuliani appears on Saturday Night Live after September 11\" title=\"New York City Rudolph Giuliani appears on Saturday Night Live after September 11\" width=\"375\" height=\"281\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-990\" srcset=\"https:\/\/fishandcheese.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/snl911.jpg 375w, https:\/\/fishandcheese.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/snl911-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 375px) 100vw, 375px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Producer Lorne Michaels asked Giuliani &#8220;Can we be funny?&#8221; Giuliani replied with excellent timing, &#8220;Why start now?<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s hard to find this clip anywhere on the Internet, but it may be on Netflix, the &#8220;deep web&#8221; or in a NSA database.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, here are two excellent Post-9\/11 clips from comedians.  <\/p>\n<p>David Letterman&#8217;s first show after 9\/11.
