Just because we want to get rid of Ghaddafi doesn't mean we have to part with his oil and jaunty hat!<\/p><\/div>\n

(Tripoli) In talks this weekend with representatives of Muammar Gaddafi’s government, U.S. officials have made clear that Gaddafi must go. \u00c2\u00a0They have also made clear that his oil and distinctive, jaunty hat can stay.<\/p>\n

“Gaddafi is a ruthless dictator who will stop at nothing, including terrorism and even killing his own people. \u00c2\u00a0He must leave power and we will except nothing less,” said a senior Obama official on condition of anonymity.<\/p>\n

“There is no room for negotiation here. \u00c2\u00a0We’re not asking, we’re telling. \u00c2\u00a0That said, we have no problem with the oil staying.”<\/p>\n

“What’s more, although we hate the man, we’ve always secretly admired his flair for fashion, and especially the cool hats he wears.”<\/p>\n

“There’s the traditional dictator hat.”<\/p>\n
